Hello again my lovely readers.
Yesterday was a slow day for Preservation News, even with May being National Preservation Month. I did recently receive an email from the Technical Preservation Services division of the National Park Service that I though I might pass along. As we all know, green is the new “it word” when it comes to just about anything. Greener cars, greener light bulbs, greener diapers, and yes, greener buildings, but this green building movement doesn’t, and shouldn’t just stop with new buildings. After all as any Preservationist will tell you, “The greenest building is the one already built“. So now I’m jumping on the band-wagon… or band-Prius? And hooking you up with the latest in how to green-ify your favorite historic building in a sympathetic way.
In other news my office is preparing for our Preservation Celebration for National Preservation Month and the excitement is palpable, or maybe it’s just because we are all excited for the catering. At any rate, we are honoring some top-notch preservation projects and much celebrating will be done.
Well that’s all for today folks.
Happy 117th Martha Graham, you nimble sack-wearing minx you!
